Our client a leader in advanced electronics manufacturing, is looking for a skilled Project Engineer to join their engineering team at their Newport site.

In this role, you’ll be the direct engineering contact for Programme Managers, taking ownership of technical onboarding, engineering changes, and cross-functional alignment across teams to deliver right-first-time, on-time production.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead engineering activities for new product introductions and change control processes.

Act as the technical interface between customers and internal engineering teams.

Manage engineering plans, sign-offs, and first-off build validations.

Track and implement engineering changes across departments.

Support customer meetings, providing engineering updates and technical assurance.

Identify risks, track tooling/NRE costs, and support the bid process with accurate data.

Verify compliance with customer specifications and internal quality standards.

Liaise with production, quality, and R&D teams to ensure successful handovers.

Support PFMEA processes and continuous improvement activities.

Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance during project execution.

What We’re Looking For:

Background in engineering ( HNC / Degree or equivalent experience ).

Strong project coordination and stakeholder engagement skills.

Proven experience with NPI processes in an electronics or manufacturing environment.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Strong Microsoft Office and documentation abilities.

Organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities.

A collaborative approach and ability to influence without direct authority.
