Outdoor Plant Area Supervisor

35-37 hours/week | Alternate Weekends

Are you a passionate horticulturalist with strong retail experience?

We're working with a family-run independent garden centre known for its welcoming environment and loyal customer base. They're looking for an Outdoor Plant Area Supervisor to take charge of the department and maintain high standards in both plant care and customer service.

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Overseeing the outdoor plant area, taking responsibility for plant health, presentation, and stock rotation.

  • Planning and placing plant orders, receiving deliveries, and ensuring accurate booking-in processes.

  • Maintaining excellent plant husbandry standards-watering, feeding, pruning, and pest control.

  • Creating visually appealing displays to inspire customers and promote seasonal lines.

  • Assembling orders and assisting customers with expert advice on plants, care, and products.

  • Working closely with the Assistant Manager and reporting directly to them.

  • Playing a key role in day-to-day planning and task management for the department.

What We're Looking For:
  • Strong plant knowledge with hands-on horticultural experience/knowledge.

  • Previous supervisory experience or readiness to take a step up into a leadership role.

  • Customer-focused with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

  • Organised and reliable with a keen eye for plant health and presentation.

  • Proactive and capable of managing a department with minimal oversight.
