Supervising EL/PL Lawyer – Birmingham – Salary £45,000 – £50,000 DOE   My client is a leading international law firm and they are looking to bring in an EL/PL Lawyer to join their growing Personal Injury team in Newport. This newly created role has come about due to the firms continued growth and offers a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to step into a supervisory role while maintaining a quality caseload of their own. You wouldnt need previous experience managing a team to be considered.  Role:  You will manage your own caseload of predominantly multi-track EL/PL files that will include files over £100k, while also supervising junior team members of around 2–4 people. Your caseload will be smaller to allow you to give proper supervision but also to ensure that you keep your case handling experience. You will have a handful of files in your own name and will have the pick of the files allocated to your team.   Responsibilities: 
  • Handle a caseload of EL/PL claims, ranging from fast-track to multi-track matters  
  • Supervise junior team members, mainly junior fee earners with 0–2 years’ experience 
  • Ensure smooth case progression, providing technical guidance and mentoring 
  • Collaborate with the Team Manager, who will support with HR issues (e.g. performance, disciplinaries) 
  • Provide input into the development of the team and processes as it continues to grow 
What You’ll Bring: 
  • Experience in defendant EL/PL litigation , although those from a claimant background looking to get into a defendant role will also be considered 
  • Ability to manage your own caseload effectively while supporting others 
  • Experience with higher-value claims (over £100k) is a plus 
  • Strong communication and organisational skills 
  • You may be a Solicitor, Chartered Legal Executive, or a paralegal with 6+ years’ experience
