Prospero Teaching are recruiting multiple Tutors to support young people across the Isle of Wight who are currently disengaged from mainstream education or on reduced timetables. These students may have experienced prolonged absences, have additional needs, or require a more personalised and nurturing approach to learning.

As a Tutor, you will:

Each tutoring placement is unique, but typically involves:

  • Mentorship and confidence-building to re-engage students with learning
  • Delivering accessible and engaging Maths and English sessions
  • Using practical, creative, and fun activities tailored to the student's interests
  • Working with students who may have ADHD, autism, PDA, anxiety, or medical needs
  • Collaborating with families and professionals to support progress
About you:

We're looking for Tutors who are:

  • Patient, resilient, and empathetic
  • Experienced in working with neurodivergent or vulnerable young people
  • Able to adapt lessons to suit different learning styles and emotional needs
  • Confident in delivering KS2 to GCSE-level Maths and English
  • Creative and enthusiastic, with a passion for making learning enjoyable

- Minimum of 1 years experience working within UK schools- ESSENTIAL

- Experience of working with learners with SEN- ESSENTIAL

To be eligible for this role through Prospero teaching, you must:

  • Hold right to work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide references upon request
  • Possess up to date Safeguarding Training (or a willingness to undertake this)
