We have a permanent Welder opportunity available within TATA Steels Llanwern works. Llanwern produces strip steel and has a pickling, cold rolling and hot rolling production line, as well as a galvanising line. This role is ideal for someone MAG 135 qualified and is reliable, committed to safety and able to understand fabrication drawings.
Role: Welder (Production)
Location:TATA Steel, Llanwern Works, Newport NP19 4QZ
Rate: £29,000-£34,000 (Dependent upon experience)
Shifts: Mon-Thu 06:00-14:00 and Fri 06:00-13:00
Start: ASAP but pending the successful result of a medical, which includes a drug and alcohol test
Responsibilities:

Working with a team of manufacturers to produce product of varying size for the highway industry

Operating processing machinery and material handling equipment in line with safety procedures at all times

Handling materials, checking stock records, labelling and storing product

Fabricating safety critical components against supplied fabrication drawings

Suggesting and utilising continuous improvement initiatives to maximise machine availability

Adhering to UK Health and Safety legislation at all times
Essential requirements:

A minimum of 5 years experience as a Welder/Fabricator

Ability to read and understand Fabrication drawings

Proven MAG 135 fillet and butt weld qualification

Experience (and qualified) following ISO 9606-1 standards

Strong knowledge of UK Health and Safety legislation

Good verbal and written communication skill

Previous experience operating mobile plant equipment
