A leading civil engineering contractor is seeking an experienced Site Agent to join their team on a major highways project near Newton Abbot, Devon.

Reporting to the Project Manager, the Site Agent will be responsible for the on-site management of construction activities, ensuring all works are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the required quality standards. The role also involves stakeholder liaison, coordination of subcontractors, and proactive management of site resources.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily site operations to ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards
  • Develop construction programmes, method statements, and phasing plans
  • Lead and coordinate subcontractors, labour, and plant requirements
  • Support the commercial team with cost reporting and compensation events
  • Maintain accurate records, including site diaries and quality documentation
  • Act as a key point of contact for project stakeholders and local representatives

Ideally candidates will have proven experience managing highways or infrastructure schemes and a strong track record in health, safety, and environmental management.
