Seamstress/Sewist (Temporary Contract)

Hourly Rate: £12.21 per hour
Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week (flexible hours may be available)

The Role:
As a Seamstress, you will work on a variety of projects requiring precision and creativity. You’ll use industrial and specialized sewing machines, including Brother, Juki Single lock stitch, Bernina, and techniques such as twin needle stitching and zig zag appliqué. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can deliver high-quality craftsmanship.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain sewing machines (Brother, Juki, Bernina) and related equipment.
  • Execute twin-needle stitching, single lock stitch, and appliqué techniques.
  • Construct garments/textiles to precise specifications.
  • Perform quality checks to ensure finished products meet standards.
  • Collaborate with the production team to meet deadlines.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a professional seamstress/tailor.
  • Proficiency in using Brother, Juki, Bernina machines, twin-needle, and zig zag appliqué.
  • Strong knowledge of textile construction, alterations, and finishing.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
