Class 1 Driver

CLASS 1 DRIVER

• MON-FRI 0400-0600 start times
• MON-FRI 1600-1800 start times

2-3 nights out a week may be required.

£16.00 - £17.00 per hour

People Solutions are currently recruiting for a Class 1 Driver to join our well-established client based in the Newton-Le-Willows area.

Rates of Pay:

• Basic: £16.00 per hour
• Nights: £17.00 per hour
• Night Out: £25.00 per night.

Day to Day Duties

Your duties as a Class 1 Driver will involve but not be limited to:

• A mixture of duties - store deliveries, general haulage and multidrop.
• Day work, night work and some nights out may be required.
• Operate and drive various Class 1 vehicles in a safe and efficient manner to and from delivery locations
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
• Ensure all goods are loaded and secured properly
• Adhere to traffic laws and regulations
• Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers
• Report any vehicle defects or maintenance needs to management
• Assist with loaded and unloading of goods where needed

Essential Skills

As a Class 1 Driver you will need to:

• Hold a valid UK Category C+E Licence
• Have a minimum of 2 years experience driving C+E vehicles
• No more than six penalty points for minor infringements and no major endorsement codes
• Have a valid UK CPC Card & UK Digi Card
• Must be able to speak and read a good level of English
• Punctuality and excellent time keeping skills
• Have a good understanding of traffic laws and regulations
• Effective communication skills

Desirable Experience

• Previous experience in multi drop or store deliveries would be an advantage.
• Tramping experience would also be an advantage but is not essential.

Training

• Shadow shifts completed for the first few days until drivers are comfortable in the role.
