Air Freight Forwarder

Brook Street Recruitment is working on behalf of our client in Mallusk to recruit a new full time and permanent Air Freight Forwarder / Air Export Coordinator

This is a full end to end freight forwarding role for Air Freight and includes Customs, it is is a brilliant opportunity to join an established company and to work in the air freight department.


Duties;

• Manage the full end to end process for air freight and ensure the flights are booked for the freight, the freight arrives on time and the onward transport is all sorted.
• Manage air charter aircraft and cargo handling operations, including import/export processes.
• Coordinate with airline reps, freight forwarders, customs, and other stakeholders.
• Managing Exports for regular clients
• Obtaining the best prices from carriers and negotiating rates
• Monitor operational costs and support budgeting and reporting processes.
• Ensure clients have the correct solution that meets their needs
• Ensure all shipments have the correct documentation
• Update clients and carriers with any changes
• Resolve queries relating to lost, damaged or delayed shipments
• Ensure the freight meets the legal responsibilities for the air liners and also complete the air freight customs documents

This is a full end to end air freight role that includes all the standard air freight duties.


Criteria:

• Strong knowledge of air cargo procedures, customs, and warehouse operations.
• Minimum 3 year's experience in UK freight forwarding
• Understanding of customs clearance procedures
• Experience with freight software such as Cargo-Wise or Multifreight
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Ability to stay calm and organised under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
