Futures recruitment are looking to appoint a Production Engineer for our fast growing client who deliver engineered solutions across medical, energy, furniture and water industries. The successful Production Engineer be instrumental in developing, optimising, and improving production processes. You will work across multidisciplinary teams to ensure efficient fabrication, assembly, and testing of components and systems. Your mechanical background and hands-on experience with fabrication processes will be key in supporting operational excellence and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and optimise production processes across multiple product lines in the medical, water, and energy sectors.

• Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives using lean manufacturing principles.

• Troubleshoot manufacturing and fabrication issues, ensuring timely and effective resolutions.

• Collaborate with design, quality, and operations teams to support new product introduction (NPI) and ensure design-for-manufacture (DFM) practices.

• Monitor key production metrics, identify bottlenecks, and propose solutions to improve efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.

• Oversee and support fabrication activities, including welding, machining, and assembly processes.

• Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and quality standards specific to each sector.

• Support training and development of shop floor staff in production best practices and new processes.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

• Proven experience (3+ years) in a production engineering role within a manufacturing environment.

• Solid understanding of fabrication techniques (e.g., welding, CNC machining, sheet metal, etc.).

• Experience implementing continuous improvement/lean manufacturing methodologies (e.g., Kaizen, 5S, Six Sigma).

• Strong problem-solving skills and analytical mindset.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
