What You Need Before Applying

  • Strong technical background in mobile elevated work platforms (MEWPs), cherry pickers, or access equipment

  • Desire to step away from tools and take on an office-based management position

  • Proven ability to coach and support technicians, using your experience to improve outcomes

  • Excellent problem-solving skills, able to guide others through technical queries

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Competency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)

  • Organised, resilient under pressure, and comfortable managing multiple tasks

About the Role

As Breakdown & Technical Manager, you'll play a key role in ensuring the smooth, efficient, and cost-effective operation of the breakdown and technical department. Your day-to-day will involve:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing the daily operations of the Breakdown and Technical Team

  • Coaching and mentoring team members to improve technical knowledge and breakdown handling

  • Liaising with depots, service engineers, customers, and 3rd party garages

  • Leading cost reduction initiatives and ensuring R&M contracts are properly utilised

  • Handling complaint escalations and overseeing quality assessments and 1:1s

  • Producing and analysing breakdown reports to identify trends and areas for improvement
