Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Material Planner to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing inventory levels, ensuring the timely availability of materials, and optimising supply chain processes. This role requires strong negotiation skills and the ability to analyse data effectively to support business decisions. Familiarity with tools such as Power BI and Tableau will be advantageous in this position.
Duties
- Develop and maintain accurate forecasts for material requirements based on production schedules and sales projections.
- Negotiate with suppliers to secure favourable terms and ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Analyse inventory levels to prevent stock shortages or excess, while optimising storage costs.
- Utilise data mining techniques to extract insights from large datasets, enhancing decision-making processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline business processes related to material management.
- Monitor third-party logistics (3PL) providers to ensure compliance with service level agreements and quality standards.
- Prepare reports using Power BI and Tableau to present findings and recommendations to management.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in material planning or a similar role within a manufacturing or supply chain environment.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets effectively.
- Proficiency in using data analysis tools such as Power BI and Tableau is highly desirable.
- Excellent negotiation skills, with a track record of successfully managing supplier relationships.
- Familiarity with 3PL operations and logistics management is an advantage.
- Strong understanding of business processes related to inventory management and supply chain optimisation.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while also being self-motivated and organised.
