Baltic Recruitment are delighted to be partnering with OsecoElfab, a global manufacturer of customised rupture discs and explosion vents with their search for a Lead Operator.

Overall Purpose:

  • The Lead Operator plays a pivotal role in collaboration with the Operations Manager, ensuring that the highest standards of safety, quality, and production are consistently upheld.
  • This role encompasses the facilitation of a safe, productive work environment, meeting customer demands, and serving as a technical support anchor for Production Operators.
  • The Lead Operator also actively contributes to troubleshooting efforts and cultivates a positive work atmosphere.

Key Duties:

  • Champion adherence to OsecoElfab's safety procedures and guidelines, prioritizing the safety of equipment and personnel.
  • Ensure the safety of equipment and personnel through vigilant operations and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Monitor and access daily task to drive proactive problem solving along with working with the operation manager on resource allocation to support achieving operational KPI's
  • Oversee designated areas, ensuring that workspaces and machinery are maintained at exemplary standards of safety, cleanliness, and tidiness.
  • Provide vital support to maintain and elevate product quality standards. Promptly address and escalate quality concerns to relevant parties, such as the Quality team, Operations Supervisor, or Manufacturing Manager.
  • Act as a designated technical support resource for less experienced operators, offering guidance and expertise.
  • Engage actively in training and developing production team members, facilitating their growth within the organization.
  • Initiate and participate in continuous improvement activities, driving operational enhancements and efficiency gains.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and adjust equipment and technology to optimize performance, with adjustments being accurately recorded in computer systems.
  • Report on adherence to production schedules, ensuring that any issues disrupting the schedule are promptly escalated and addressed.
  • Display effective communication skills, adept at conveying ideas and issues in meetings and other settings.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn and grasp different facets of being a Lead Operator.
  • Exhibit strong leadership skills and function seamlessly as a team player, contributing to a collaborative and productive work environment.
  • To ensure teams within your designated area/s of responsibility maintain workspace and machinery to a high standard i.e., safe, clean, tidy.
  • Able to run small 5S projects within an area.
  • To act as a nominated 'go to' person for technical support of less experienced operators.
  • To be actively involved in the training and development of production team members.
  • Initiation and involvement in continuous improvement (CI) activities.
  • Maintain, monitor, troubleshoot, and/or adjust equipment and technology to maximize performance, as well as input adjustments into computer systems.
  • Report on adherence to production schedule and ensure issues obstructing the production schedule are escalated as required.
