SEND Teaching Assistant – North Shields 

Salary: £450 – £475 per week
Hours: Monday to Friday | 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM

We are looking for a SEND Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated 1:1 support for a Year 2 child with Autism in a welcoming and inclusive primary school in North Tyneside. This rewarding role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting children with additional needs, helping them develop socially, emotionally, and academically.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide 1:1 tailored support for a Year 2 pupil with Autism

  • Implement strategies to support their social, emotional, and learning needs

  • Encourage independence, communication, and positive behaviour

  • Work closely with the class teacher, SENDCo, and external specialists to deliver personalised interventions

  • Create a calm, structured, and nurturing environment that enables the child to thrive
