We have an excellent opportunity for a Sales Engineer to join a trusted metal fabrication company within the North East, serving key sectors including Rail, Construction, Offshore Energy, and Commercial Vehicles. The Role:
In this role you will be helping to drive commercial growth. You’ll work directly with clients to develop tailored engineering solutions, identify technical requirements, and guide projects from initial enquiry to production. Your role will be essential in translating customer needs into actionable projects while ensuring strong internal collaboration and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and grow relationships with existing customers and identify new opportunities
- Review customer specifications to identify opportunities and minimise risk
- Prepare accurate, detailed quotations for fabrication and machining work to agreed deadlines
- Deliver clear, structured handovers to the Engineering and Production teams
- Understand client needs, industry trends, and long-term goals to position them as a key partner
- Maintain and grow relationships with existing customers and identify new opportunities
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of their full range of fabrication and products.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Previous Sales Engineer experience or an engineer within a fabrication environment looking to move into Sales.
- HNC (or higher) in an engineering discipline or equivalent time-served experience
- Solid understanding of welding, sheet metal work, and general fabrication processes
- Strong ability to read engineering drawings and interpret GD&T
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
