Are you a Mechanical Design Draughtsperson looking for your next move? I’m currently working with a long-standing client who’s looking to add someone experienced, hands-on, and enthusiastic to their team. It’s a great opportunity for someone who enjoys variety in their work and can get stuck into the day-to-day running of a busy engineering business.
Responsibilities:
- Create and develop detailed fabrication and general arrangement drawings using SolidWorks
- Compile material specifications and costings for quotations
- Source and order required materials in line with project requirements
- Prepare documents and provide general administrative support to the drawing office
- Assist with project coordination and provide support across various stages of development
- Attend site visits to take accurate measurements and liaise directly with clients
- Interpret client briefs to produce practical and cost-effective design solutions
- Work closely with fabricators during the manufacturing process to ensure designs are implemented accurately
- Communicate effectively with clients, subcontractors, architects, and structural engineers to fully understand project scope and expectations
- Apply a commercially minded approach to design, considering budget and efficiency at all stages
- Maintain a solid understanding of manufacturing techniques, installation processes, and industry best practices
- Carry out general office duties as required to support the smooth running of the department
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- A strong understanding of engineering principles and design practices
- Solid mathematical and analytical skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
- A self-motivated and proactive attitude, with the ability to manage their own workload
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel
- The ability to thrive under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- A flexible approach to working both independently and as part of a team
Job Details:
- Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm
- Job Type: Full-time
- Salary: from £35,000 per year - negotiable depending on experience
- Holidays: 20 days annual leave plus bank holidays
