Quality Engineer - Plastic & Rubber Manufacturing

Shifts- Monday-Thursday 8:00-17:00, Friday 8:00-13:00 NO WEEKEND WORK

Location- Northampton, Northamptonshire. Onsite role

Salary- 36,000-38,000

What you'll do to be a successful Quality Engineer:

  • Lead quality assurance processes, ensuring products meet industry and customer standards.
  • Dealing and responding with any returns from customers, then analysing where any issues or defects are coming from.
  • Lead problem solving activities, utilising industry standard methodologies: 8D's, 5 Whys, 3C, DMAIC, Ishikawa fish bone diagrams, FMEA's
  • Liaising with different internal departments, such as production and management
  • Measurements of parts will be key using a variety of different skills and tools.
  • Perform inspections, audits, third party audits also, and testing on plastic and rubber components.
  • Co-ordination of document control specifications, standards, procedures

Education and desired skills to have to be a successful Quality Engineer:

  • Strong experience working with automotive customers quality systems and understanding customer requirements.
  • Bachelor/Masters degree with a technical focus or time served in a comparable role.
  • An understanding of both ISO9001 and IATF16949.
  • An understanding of Quality tools and techniques (8D, Lean, 5 whys, Pareto Analysis, Six- Sigma, DFMEA, PFMEA, PPAP, APQP, MSA etc preferred).
  • Experience of rubber & plastic injection moulding industry would be an advantage
