We are seeking a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team at our modern Gastro Pub. As Sous Chef, you'll play a key role in leading kitchen operations, maintaining high culinary standards, and delivering an exceptional dining experience focused on seasonal, locally-sourced, and creatively presented pub fare.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Head Chef in managing all aspects of kitchen operations.
  • Supervise and coordinate the preparation and presentation of all dishes.
  • Ensure consistency and quality of food in line with gastro pub standards.
  • Assist in developing new menus and daily specials using fresh, local ingredients.
  • Train, mentor, and lead kitchen staff to maintain a positive, productive environment.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant kitchen (HACCP, food safety regulations).
  • Monitor inventory, order supplies, and manage waste to control food costs.
  • Step in to lead the kitchen during Head Chefs absence.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Chef de Partie in a busy gastropub or restaurant.
  • Strong knowledge of modern British/European pub cuisine.
  • Passion for high-quality, seasonal ingredients and creative cooking.
  • Ability to lead, train, and motivate a kitchen team under pressure.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Food hygiene certification (Level 2 or 3 preferred).
