We are seeking a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team at our modern Gastro Pub. As Sous Chef, you'll play a key role in leading kitchen operations, maintaining high culinary standards, and delivering an exceptional dining experience focused on seasonal, locally-sourced, and creatively presented pub fare.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Head Chef in managing all aspects of kitchen operations.
- Supervise and coordinate the preparation and presentation of all dishes.
- Ensure consistency and quality of food in line with gastro pub standards.
- Assist in developing new menus and daily specials using fresh, local ingredients.
- Train, mentor, and lead kitchen staff to maintain a positive, productive environment.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant kitchen (HACCP, food safety regulations).
- Monitor inventory, order supplies, and manage waste to control food costs.
- Step in to lead the kitchen during Head Chefs absence.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Chef de Partie in a busy gastropub or restaurant.
- Strong knowledge of modern British/European pub cuisine.
- Passion for high-quality, seasonal ingredients and creative cooking.
- Ability to lead, train, and motivate a kitchen team under pressure.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Food hygiene certification (Level 2 or 3 preferred).
