A specialist manufacturer of chemicals based in Northamptonshire are currently recruiting for a temporary Works Chemist with the contract finishing February 2026. The company develop next-generation sealers and lacquers. This is a great opportunity to gain some great experience within the chemicals/materials sector. This role is starting ASAP with a salary of up to £30K depending on experience.

Role:

  • Work independently within a small, dynamic team,
  • Help with new product development and reformulating existing products
  • Assist with technical support activities
  • Conduct QC and evaluation tests
  • Maintain accurate records of test results
  • Troubleshoot and solve technical challenges
  • Assist with scale up to production

Person:

  • Recent degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Materials Science, or a related field, or equivalent laboratory experience.
  • Strong practical laboratory skills.
  • Excellent organisational and documentation abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.
