This dynamic national firm are members of the Charted Institute of Building (CIOB) and undertake professional qualifications within the membership to expand knowledge and experience in the industry. Their staff members also undertake examinations and progression through the Charted Institute of Insurance (CII) and other professional bodies dependent on the role.
This is an exciting new role for a Civil Engineer with UK highways experience. This involves working alongside the Civil Engineering team in the business on a range of sizeable projects. This role will be office based but will also require some site visits across the UK to extract information and check damage including structural damage.
The position will offer the successful candidate an interesting, challenging, and varied workload as well as allowing them to develop professionally in their chosen field.
Ideally, you will be a motivated, progressive, and versatile individual who can adopt a flexible approach to your role in the business and provide support to the division - an individual who is willing to go the extra mile to ensure work is delivered correctly, accurately and on time.
The focus of the position will be:
- To investigate highways and crown property damage claims
- Communicate with all parties involved - over phone, email and potentially site visits
- Establishing all technical information relevant to each claim/project
- producing reports for claims prior to works being carried out on behalf of clients.
- Work to deadlines as directed
- Keep the system up to date with all relevant information
- Work with other team members in the business to provide information and assist with any technical matters as directed.
- Feedback to other teams on completion of claims
Support will be given to study professional qualifications.
PERSON SPECIFICATION:
- Civil engineering degree (HNC/HND also considered)
- UK Highways working experience
- Experience in relevant industry
- Excellent work ethic
- Ability to communicate on all levels
- Full driving licence
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Confident communicator
- IT literate
- Driven & Ambitious
HOURS OF WORK: 8:45 - 5.00pm Monday to Friday with 45 min Lunch
Hybrid offered following probation
HOLIDAY: 25 days plus bank holidays, an extra 16 hours of time off in lieu taken at no more than two-hour slots which equates to the total of 27 days plus bank holidays. An additional day is also given for your Birthday if it falls on a weekday.
