General Responsibilities

  • Lead the Geography curriculum, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.

  • Deliver engaging and effective Geography lessons that inspire students.

  • Use data to monitor and raise attainment across the subject.

  • Support colleagues in developing best practice within Geography.

  • Contribute to enrichment through fieldwork, school trips, and wider learning opportunities.

  • Establish positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents/carers.

  • Take an active role in professional development and performance management.



Person Specification

Essential:

  • Qualified Teacher Status and good honours degree.

  • Proven experience teaching Geography at KS3-KS5.

  • Evidence of raising standards and improving outcomes.

  • Strong subject knowledge and curriculum leadership potential.

  • Ability to use data to inform planning and progress.

  • Commitment to safeguarding, equality, and inclusion.

  • Strong communication, teamwork, and leadership skills.

Desirable:

  • Experience teaching across the full secondary age range.

  • Experience of curriculum development and resource leadership.

  • Knowledge of effective strategies to drive departmental improvement.

  • Evidence of using research to inform curriculum planning.
