Role: Design Detailer (Structural Steel)
Location: Northampton, Northamptonshire
Salary: £40,000–£55,000 (DOE)
Hours: Monday – Friday days / 42.5 hours per week
Job Type: Full time, Permanent

The Duties:

• Produce detailed structural drawings and models using Tekla Structures and AutoCAD
• Collaborate with engineers and project managers to ensure design accuracy and compliance
• Interpret architectural and structural drawings to create fabrication and erection details
• Maintain drawing standards and document control procedures
• Support project delivery from concept through to construction phase
• Attend site visits and coordination meetings when required

The Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in structural detailing within the construction industry
• Proficiency in Tekla Structures and AutoCAD (essential)
• Strong understanding of steel and concrete detailing standards
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Relevant qualification in structural or civil engineering (HNC/HND or equivalent)
