A primary school based in Northampton is looking for a Pastoral Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated pupil support team-someone who can build strong, trusting relationships and help pupils thrive emotionally, socially, and academically.

Your Role Will Include:

  • Providing emotional and pastoral support to pupils on a one-to-one basis and in small groups.

  • Supporting behaviour management and conflict resolution.

  • Encouraging positive attendance, punctuality, and engagement.

  • Liaising with parents, staff, and external agencies where appropriate.

  • Helping create a safe, inclusive environment where pupils feel heard and understood.

  • A calm, caring, and non-judgmental approach.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a genuine desire to support young people.

  • Experience working with children or young people (school-based experience is an advantage).

  • Patience, resilience, and the ability to manage sensitive or challenging situations.
