The Role
• Lead and manage the engineering team, ensuring motivation, development, and performance
• Act as the designated Responsible Person for safety, compliance, and operational standards
• Carry out electrical and mechanical installations, maintenance, and repairs on manufacturing equipment
• Troubleshoot faults, calibrate vision systems, and support automation technologies
• Collaborate with production teams to minimise downtime and improve efficiency
• Analyse performance data to identify areas for improvement and implement effective solutions
• Coordinate planned maintenance schedules and manage external contractors
• Contribute to the development and refinement of Standard Operating Procedures
• Support capital investment planning and supplier engagement

The Requirements
• Proven experience in a senior engineering or team leadership role within a manufacturing environment
• Strong electrical background – 17th/18th Edition certification preferred
• Hands-on experience with fault finding and repairs on electromechanical systems
• Formal engineering qualifications (HNC/HND or equivalent) desirable
• Experience with vision systems, control systems, and automation technologies
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement tools
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a proactive and analytical mindset
• Automotive industry experience is a plus
