Operational Carbon Analyst / Coordinator

A leading construction business is looking for an Operational Carbon Analyst / Coordinator to join its growing sustainability team. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate sustainability professional with strong analytical skills and a desire to drive real impact in carbon reduction and reporting.

The Role:
Working closely with the Senior Sustainability Manager, you’ll play a key role in measuring, analysing and reporting the organisation’s operational carbon footprint across Scopes 1, 2 and 3. You'll also contribute to sustainability strategies and ensure robust compliance with carbon reporting requirements such as SECR and ESOS.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a passion for environmental impact, a keen eye for data, and a solid understanding of carbon reporting frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor, report and analyse operational carbon emissions (Scopes 1, 2 and 3)

  • Lead data collection for SECR and ESOS compliance

  • Maintain up-to-date emission factors in line with DEFRA/BEIS guidelines

  • Work with internal teams and external suppliers to gather and validate carbon data

  • Ensure accuracy and efficiency in reporting processes and evidence documentation

  • Liaise with the supply chain to collect Scope 3 emissions

  • Support the achievement of organisational carbon and sustainability targets

  • Identify and propose opportunities to reduce carbon emissions across operations

  • Keep up to date with UK sustainability standards, best practices and innovations

About You:

  • Strong knowledge of sustainability and carbon reporting

  • Experience in the construction industry or a related field is highly desirable

  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and confident with data systems

  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement abilities

  • Detail-focused, well-organised and self-motivated
