Interim FP&A Manager

Location: Northampton (Hybrid 3 days in the office) Duration: 3-6 months (potential to extend)Reports to: CFOStart Date: ASAP

Role Purpose:

The Interim FP&A Manager will play a pivotal role in delivering accurate forecasting, insightful P&L reporting, and preparing high-quality board reporting packs. This role requires a hands-on finance professional with a strong commercial mindset and the ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the monthly forecasting process across business units, ensuring accuracy, alignment, and clarity on assumptions.
  • Deliver detailed and insightful reporting on the consolidated P&L, highlighting key variances and trends.
  • Prepare and present the monthly board pack, including financial performance, KPI analysis, and commentary.
  • Partner with business unit leaders to challenge assumptions, drive performance, and ensure robust forecasting.
  • Support scenario planning and strategic financial modelling to aid decision-making.
  • Identify opportunities for improving FP&A processes and tools to increase efficiency and insight.
  • Collaborate closely with Financial Reporting and Commercial Finance teams to ensure alignment and data integrity.

Candidate Profile:

Essential:

  • Qualified accountant (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with strong post-qualified experience in FP&A
  • Demonstrated expertise in forecasting, budgeting, and P&L analysis in a complex business environment
  • Proven ability to produce board-level reporting and analysis with clear narratives and insights
  • Excellent Excel and financial modelling skills
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, including presenting to senior leadership
  • Ability to work autonomously and meet tight deadlines

Desirable:

  • Experience working in a private equity-backed or multi-entity group
  • Familiarity with reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar
  • Exposure to transformation or change environments
