Are you an experienced Housing Options Officer seeking your next assignment? North Northamptonshire Council is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable individual to assist in managing the increasing demand on their homelessness services.

This pivotal role focuses on reducing backlogs and waiting times for homelessness applications. You will triage cases, carry out detailed assessments, and support vulnerable residents in navigating their housing options.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct triage of new homelessness applications and manage caseloads efficiently

  • Undertake detailed casework and make informed decisions in line with the Housing Act 1996, Part 7

  • Provide accurate, clear, and tailored housing advice to residents at risk of homelessness

  • Liaise with internal departments and external agencies to resolve complex housing situations

Candidate Requirements:
  • Proven experience in housing options, homelessness casework, or related services

  • In-depth knowledge of relevant legislation and statutory duties

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to manage challenging situations

  • Excellent organisational and time management skills to handle high volumes of cases

  • A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential due to the nature of the role
