About the Role:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated SENCo (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) to join our team at a secondary school in Northampton. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and qualified professional to make a positive impact on the educational experience of students with special educational needs. As the SENCo, you will be responsible for leading and managing the provision for students with additional learning needs, ensuring they receive tailored support to succeed both academically and socially. This position is available on a permanent basis, starting as soon as possible.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the SEN department, including overseeing the provision for students with a range of special educational needs.
  • Ensure the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) and provide strategic direction in support of students with SEN.
  • Work closely with teachers, staff, and external agencies to ensure the effective delivery of support and resources for students with special educational needs.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to staff on best practices for supporting students with SEN and promote inclusive teaching practices across the school.
  • Monitor and track the progress of students with SEN and implement interventions as necessary.
  • Conduct assessments and manage referrals for students requiring additional support.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to SEN provision and support.
  • Ensure compliance with legal requirements and best practices in SEN provision.

Key Requirements:

  • NASENCO Level 7 Qualification (essential).
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and UK teaching experience.
  • Enhanced DBS check (essential).
  • Experience in leading or coordinating SEN provision within a secondary school setting.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
  • A passion for supporting students with special educational needs and a commitment to inclusive education.
