Role Summary

Overall Purpose of the Role

To ensure that the Depots/Region achieve profits targets by:

Building close and effective working relationships with a network of contacts within the customer base.

Ensure revenue and profit opportunities are maximised.

Sell in rate increases as and when necessary.

Positively influence perception via structured and planned calls

Developing a strong working relationship with depot based DX teams.

Main Responsibilities

Create and share a sustainable network of contacts and key individuals within the existing customer base.

Achieve and exceed productivity targets in line with DX policy.

Work with their Line Manager to develop action plans in line with strategic objectives for existing customers.

To manage customer trade against profile.

To demonstrate strong knowledge of the Parcels Industry and all DX products.

To take ownership of any rate increases set by Commercial

Submit accurate and timely activity reports.

Attend weekly depot management meetings

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Experience within the industry and of dealing with Commercial Entities
  • Ability to converse at all levels
  • Detailed understanding of how to create value within relationships
  • An understanding of the sales process.
  • Problem solving abilities; able to facilitate discussions.
  • Able to work with the minimum of supervision.
  • Microsoft skills i.e. Excel, Word, Email, Access & PowerPoint.

Measures

  • Achievement of profit budgets within their depots/region.
  • Profit growth within their customer base.
  • Retention and growth of all customers within their customer base.
  • Achievement of Rate Increase Targets.
  • Support Credit Control when required to minimise Debtor Days.
  • Minimum of 25 customer calls per day (outbound)
