Engineering Team Leader

Location - Northampton

Shift pattern - 4 on 4 off days and nights

Our client is seeking an experienced Engineering Team Leader to oversee a team of engineers within a fast-paced FMCG environment. You will be incremental in driving performance standards and supporting the development and ongoing training of engineers in your team.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead, manage and support shift engineers, including contractors.
  • Conduct thorough shift handovers, ensuring all downtime and ongoing issues are clearly documented.
  • Attend production meetings and communicate priorities, upcoming activities and engineering plans to the team.
  • Take responsibility for the entire site during your shift, covering all engineering activities and on-site equipment.
  • Oversee and manage planned maintenance tasks, ensuring high adherence to the maintenance schedule.
  • Produce detailed root cause analysis reports for major stoppages, defects and segregations.
  • Manage engineer break schedules to support production needs and optimise line performance.
  • Coordinate and brief all in-house engineering activities and contractor works, ensuring permits and RAMS are in place.

Requirements:

  • Level 3 equivalent qualifications in Engineering, such as (NVQ, BTEC etc)
  • Experience in a similar role, such as (engineering lead, lead engineer, senior engineer, maintenance team leader, maintenance shift leader, engineering supervisor)
  • Strong fault-finding abilities and RCA experience.
