Our client, operating in the Highways business sector, is seeking to recruit a Land Surveyor for a permanent position working on HS2 near Northampton!



Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the Senior Land Surveyor in establishing and maintaining the site survey control network.
  • Undertaking land, topographic, hydrographic, and measured building surveys using specialist equipment like robotics and 3D scanners.
  • Analysing data using plans, maps, charts, and software such as AutoCAD, Trimble Business Center, and GIS programs.
  • Preparing survey drawings with the Senior Land Surveyor and presenting data to clients.
  • Coordinating with Site Engineers regarding project priorities, changes of plans, deviations, and non-conformance rectifications.
  • Conducting setting out and as-built surveys, topographical and engineering surveys (Laser Scanner) and managing the registration and post-processing of Point Cloud Data.
  • Performing GNSS network surveying, precise traversing, and precise levelling for breakdown from primary survey control.
  • Managing drone surveys for earthwork measures.


Job Requirements:

  • HND/degree in Land Survey, Geomatics, or equivalent.
  • Experience within a similar role and with similar values.
  • Experience in preparing survey-related method statements and risk assessments.
  • Expert knowledge of Trimble total stations, levels, and GNSS receivers.
  • Excellent AutoCAD skills to produce 2D and 3D drawings.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with solid report writing and compilation abilities.
  • Proficient in using survey software like Trimble Business Center.
  • Must hold a driving licence and have access to a vehicle.
