We are looking for a passionate and talented Music Teacher to join our dynamic and creative performing arts department. The successful candidate will inspire students to develop their musical abilities, creativity, and appreciation of music through engaging lessons and performance opportunities. You will play a key role in nurturing a love of music across the school, both in the classroom and through extracurricular activities such as choirs, bands, and school productions.



Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging music lessons in line with the national curriculum and school ethos.
  • Teach a range of musical disciplines, including performance, composition, and music theory.
  • Encourage participation in musical ensembles, concerts, and other school events.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and guidance.
  • Maintain and manage musical instruments, resources, and equipment effectively.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop cross-curricular and whole-school musical initiatives.
  • Support and inspire students of all abilities to reach their full potential.


Essential Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Degree in Music or a related discipline.
  • Experience teaching Music across relevant key stages.
  • Strong performance and/or instrumental skills.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and classroom management abilities.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.


Desirable Skills

  • Ability to direct choirs, orchestras, or other musical ensembles.
  • Experience leading school productions or concerts.
  • Familiarity with music technology and digital composition tools.
  • Ability to teach a second subject (advantageous but not essential).
