Cover Supervisor

We are seeking a confident and reliableCover Supervisorto join our supportive school team. This role is perfect for individuals looking to gain classroom experience, especially those considering a career in teaching. As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise whole classes during teacher absences, delivering pre-set work and ensuring a calm, focused learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise lessons across a range of subjects and year groups (Key Stages 3 & 4)

• Deliver and manage pre-prepared lesson plans left by the class teacher

• Maintain classroom behaviour and ensure students stay on task

• Provide feedback to teaching staff on student progress and conduct

• Support with other school duties as required, including registration and break/lunch cover

Candidate Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 GCSEs (including Maths and English)

• Previous experience working with young people (e.g. in a school, coaching, tutoring, youth work)

• Strong communication and classroom management skills

• Confidence to lead a class and follow school procedures

• Ability to adapt and remain calm under pressure

• A DBS on the update service (or willing to apply)
