MIG Welding Cell Leader DaventryMonday – Thursday 7am – 17:15pm Friday 7am – 13:00pm£40,950 per annum ( £17.50ph )We are seeking a skilled and proactive Cell Leader – MIG to oversee a team of welders within our client’s manufacturing operation. In this hands-on leadership role, you’ll be responsible for welding tasks as well as guiding, mentoring, and supporting your team to ensure high standards of productivity, quality, and safety.Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of 6 MIG welders on assigned product lines.
  • Monitor and drive team performance in terms of productivity, availability, and quality.
  • Evaluate and support process improvements, including fixture changes, to meet or exceed target cycle times.
  • Coordinate the flow of parts and materials to meet production schedules.
  • Perform MIG welding and related processes to high standards.
  • Promote and ensure compliance with health and safety procedures across the team and factory.
  • Support and participate in training and development activities, maintaining your own continuous professional development.
  • Perform other reasonable duties as required, in line with business needs and your position level.
The Ideal Candidate:
  • Demonstrated experience in MIG welding within a manufacturing environment.
  • Confident in reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
  • Strong leadership qualities with a proactive, team-first mindset.
  • Health and safety awareness.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
  • Reliable, punctual, and methodical in approach.
  • Basic computer literacy.
Desirable:
  • Formal welding qualifications or certifications.
  • Experience with process improvement or lean manufacturing practices.
