Dunbar Education is currently recruiting on behalf of a specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) provision for a dedicated and resilient Pastoral Support Teaching Assistant. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of children and young people who require consistent emotional and behavioural support to thrive in education.
Role Overview:As a Pastoral Support Teaching Assistant, you will work as part of a skilled and supportive team to provide:

Daily emotional and behavioural support for pupils with SEMH needs

One-to-one and small group interventions focused on emotional regulation and wellbeing

Support with managing behaviour in a restorative and trauma-informed manner
-
A safe and nurturing environment that encourages positive relationships and re-engagement with learning
We are looking for individuals who:
-
Have experience working with young people with SEMH, trauma, or challenging behaviour
-
Understand the importance of consistent pastoral care and a child-centred approach
-
Are calm under pressure, empathetic, and able to de-escalate conflict effectively

Hold relevant qualifications or training (e.g. ELSA, Team Teach, Mental Health First Aid) or are willing to complete training

Can work collaboratively with teaching staff, pastoral leads, and external agencies
