JOB DESCRIPTION:
To provide effective support services to the firm. Duties will include:
- Variety of residential property experience including sales and purchases for both freehold and leasehold, as well as landlord and tenant, and part exchanges.
- Prior experience in dealing with plot sales would be desirable
- Lead the team at the Northampton office.
- Communicate professionally and effectively with clients, estate agents, mortgage lends and local authorities
- Address any legal issues and move to solve as quickly as possible
- Ensure all the relevant parties are kept up to date in a timely manner
- Oversee the exchange of contracts, completion of transactions and registration with the land registry.
- Must have a solid academic knowledge of property law and able to mentor junior fee earners and assistants in the team.
- Providing expert advice and guidance to clients throughout the conveyancing process.
- Offering legal advice to Directors and supporting any property-related transactions or conveyancing matters
- Attend and participate in marketing events as required.
PERSON SPECIFICATION:
- Sound Residential Property experience with a recognised Residential practice including a good knowledge of the CQS scheme.
- Ability to manage own caseload and manage a collaborative team.
- Good drafting and proof-reading skills.
- Intermediate to advanced IT and online systems ability (Microsoft Office, legal industry specific document management systems, online portals/datarooms etc.)
- Commercial, practical and financial awareness.
- Confidence and ability to communicate at senior levels.
- Excellent academics.
- Excellent interpersonal and marketing skills with a strong ability to develop contacts for the team and the firm.
- Able to work collaboratively and fit into a friendly but busy team.
- Good organisational ability.
- Ability to work to deadlines and under the pressure that comes with residential conveyancing work.
