About the Company

Our client is a leading Tier 1 Main Contractor with a strong reputation for delivering high-profile construction projects across the UK. They are known for their commitment to innovation, quality, and fostering long-term client relationships. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team.



Role Overview

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will take a lead commercial role on major projects, ensuring cost efficiency, contract compliance, and profitability. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of the commercial function, from procurement through to final account, and will work closely with project teams to deliver schemes successfully.



Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all commercial aspects of assigned projects from inception to completion.

  • Prepare cost plans, budgets, and cash flow forecasts.

  • Administer and negotiate contracts, variations, and claims.

  • Oversee procurement strategies and manage subcontractor relationships.

  • Conduct regular site visits and liaise with the operations team to monitor progress and costs.

  • Prepare accurate valuations, reports, and final accounts.

  • Provide mentoring and support to junior members of the commercial team.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and industry standards.



Requirements

  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor with a main contractor, ideally on large-scale construction projects.

  • Strong knowledge of various forms of contracts, including NEC and JCT.

  • Excellent commercial acumen, negotiation, and analytical skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and work under pressure to meet deadlines.

  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
