This well-respected, private equity backed, regional accountancy practice has big plans to build on its previous success and this will be driven by like-minded practice professionals.

They are now seeking an Accounts Assistant to join the team in Northampton. Their culture is very important to them and is based on company. Key Responsibilities:

  • Building productive working relationships with clients as required
  • Developing and applying your technical knowledge through on-the-job training and formal qualifications
  • Using accounting software to provide accurate reporting for Managers, Partners and clients
  • Producing simple sets of reconciled management information for clients inclusive of profit and loss account and balance sheet
  • Preparing basic tax computations and returns e.g. corporation tax
  • Preparing monthly and quarterly VAT returns for sole traders, limited companies and partnerships

Are you the right fit?

  • Ideally you will be AAT qualified, with the intention of working towards becoming ACCA/ACA/CIMA qualified.
  • A positive and confident self-starter, who understands the importance of maintaining positive client relationships as well as internal collaboration
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written with an ability to work across a variety of clients during any one month
  • Exceptional attention to detail, demonstrating an organised approach to work; an ability to prioritise and meet tight timeframes with high quality output
  • An ability to apply technical accounting knowledge to real-life client situations
  • Knowledge of UK GAAP and desirably IFRS
