Sounds like a big role- tell me more….

As a homeless support worker you’ll work supporting people living in the private rented sector. These are individuals who are part way through their journey towards independent living. You'll support them to maintain their tenancy, and access other support services.

The person needs to be highly empathetic and those with experience of supporting those with drug and alcohol abuse issues and poor mental health would potentially make good candidates. These people have challenging circumstances.

The role requires someone to be brave enough to lone work for periods. Violence is is almost nil, but the ability to manage conflict and follow process is key.

The real key to this role is to build a trusting and reliable relationship with the individuals to support, sustain and encourage them by utilising other services they access. But they don’t need a "bestie"- a friendly person, but not a friend is one of the main demands of the role. People who have supported family members and friends in similar situations previously could put their lived experience to good use here.

This role will require you to drive between locations using your own vehicle. The role is also weekdays, daytime 9-5.
