We have a current opportunity for a Substance Misuse Team leader on a permanent basis. The position will be based in Northampton. Key Responsibilities:

  • To ensure the development and delivery of the service in line with contractual requirements.
  • To provide leadership to the team and implement standards and policies across the service.
  • To manage the team providing induction, supervision, coaching, work reviews and development reviews.
  • To support the Service Manager/Senior Manager in dealing with performance management issues by identifying instances of underperformance with relevant supporting evidence/data
  • To assist in the recruitment of team members and volunteers
  • Ensure that all safeguarding issues, including child protection and protection of vulnerable adults, are dealt with in accordance to Aquarius policies and procedures, and local and national statutory requirements.
  • Be confident holding a small case load of clients.

Person Specification:

  • Demonstrable experience of working in the substance misuse field with a commitment to complete NVQ4 Health and Social Care or equivalent.
  • Significant experience of individual client work in an addictions or social care setting with adults/young people.
  • Experience of staff supervision/management.
  • Knowledge of primary, secondary and other outreach settings.
  • Knowledge of alcohol and health related issues.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the functional model of alcohol use.
  • Experience of delivering training.
