About the RoleDunbar Education is proud to be working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in the Northampton area. They are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team and help make a real difference to pupils with Special Educational Needs.

This rewarding role will involve working closely with the SENCo, class teachers, and other support staff to provide tailored assistance to pupils with a range of needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, Speech and Language difficulties, and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEN

  • Adapt activities and resources to suit individual learning styles

  • Support pupils' emotional wellbeing and encourage positive behaviour

  • Liaise with parents, teachers, and external professionals to ensure a joined-up approach

  • Assist with personal care if required

  • Monitor progress and contribute to review meetings

About You

  • Previous experience working with children with SEN (school or alternative settings)

  • A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team

  • Willingness to undertake relevant training

  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply)
