Hours of Work: 37.5 hours a week, Monday to Friday (between 8am-6pm) + occasional out of hours projects and implementations (agreed in advance and paid as overtime or time in lieu)

What is the Role?

As a Unified Communications & AV Installation Engineer, you will play a key role in deploying best-in-class telephony and meeting room solutions for our client's customers, ensuring every interaction reflects their values of professionalism, clarity, and innovation.

You will be responsible for surveying, installing, and configuring cloud-hosted VoIP and meeting room systems, particularly focusing on Gamma Horizon, 8x8 Work, Yealink Teams Room Systems, and Contact Centre platforms. This is a customer-facing, field-based role which requires a confident communicator and a technically proficient engineer.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct customer site surveys for telephony and meeting room deployments
  • Install and configure Gamma Horizon and 8x8 Work systems, including handsets and soft clients
  • Deploy and commission Yealink Microsoft Teams Room systems (including multi-display and room control setups)
  • Implement Contact Centre features (Gamma and 8x8), including wallboards, call flows, and agent setups.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve installation issues, escalating where necessary
  • Provide end-user training on VoIP handsets, soft clients, Teams Room usage, and contact centre dashboards
  • Maintain accurate records of installs including diagrams, configuration notes, and training documentation
  • Collaborate with presales to validate feasibility of proposed solutions
  • Serve as the face of the company while onsite - delivering an outstanding customer experience

Experience/Qualifications:

  • 3+ years experience in an installation or unified communications engineering role
  • Hands-on deployment of Gamma Horizon and/or 8x8 VoIP platforms
  • Experience configuring Teams Room Systems - particularly Yealink hardware
  • Familiarity with contact centre solutions, including IVRs, agent roles, and reporting tools
  • Comfortable with cloud-based telephony provisioning portals
  • Understanding of basic networking (VLANs, PoE switches, IP provisioning, QoS basics)
  • Experience working in customer-facing environments
  • Advantageous brands to be familiar with: Yealink, 8x8, Gamma, Microsoft Teams, Meraki, DrayTek, Datto (Open Mesh)
  • Comfortable with power tools in the framework of mounting equipment to walls and ceilings
  • A BTEC or HND in a relevant subject (Computer Science, Information Technology, etc) is preferred
  • Relevant industry certifications with proven implementation would be ideal
  • Full valid UK driving licence
