Impact Recruitment are working with a highly respected manufacturing company based in Northampton, who are looking to appoint experienced TIG Welders to join their skilled production team.
This is an excellent opportunity to work within a forward-thinking manufacturer. The role involves light and heavy gauge TIG welding, working from engineering drawings, and delivering projects from start to finish to the highest standards.
Location: Northampton | On-site
Hours: Day Shift
Pay: 17 - 18 per hour (depending on experience)
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out TIG welding on stainless steel
- Weld material thicknesses between 1.2mm - 3.0mm
- Read and interpret engineering drawings to manufacture precise components.
- Perform light gauge TIG welding with back purging.
- Undertake heavy gauge fabrication as required.
- Use fabrication tools such as grinders, orbital sanders, and saws.
- Apply rolling and other forming techniques.
- Measure using vernier calipers and tape measures to tight tolerances.
- Self-check work to ensure accuracy and quality.
- Support the delivery of customer projects and new developments.
Requirements:
- Proven TIG welding experience (essential).
- Strong fabrication skills across both light and heavy gauges.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing/production environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and quality awareness.
- Ability to work independently and from engineering drawings.
- Flexible and adaptable to support a variety of projects.
- Ability to commute to Northampton or plan to relocate before starting work.
