Senior Mechanical Engineer

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team in Northfleet, with flexible working available. This role is ideal for someone with strong technical expertise, proven design experience, and the ability to mentor and support a team while driving high-quality project delivery.

Key Responsibilities
 
·Lead and manage the mechanical design process, producing schematics, drawings, and calculations in AutoCAD/Revit.
·Provide line management and support to the mechanical team, ensuring projects meet deadlines and quality standards.
·Liaise professionally with clients, contractors, and design team members, responding to technical queries.
·Ensure compliance with UK design standards, CDM regulations, and internal quality procedures.
·Identify opportunities for new business and additional services while maintaining strong client relationships.
·Monitor project budgets, schedules, and team performance, raising issues proactively.
 
What They're Looking For
 
·Degree or equivalent in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering (chartered status preferred).
·Several years' experience in building services design, residential design and site experience.
·Strong knowledge of CAD/Revit and UK mechanical design standards.
·Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with client-facing experience.
·Proven ability to lead projects and mentor junior engineers.
·Willingness to travel to client sites when required.
