A warm, inclusive primary school in Ealing is seeking an experienced and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join their Early Years team from September 2025. This full-time position involves providing 1:1 support for a child in Nursery with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), who is currently non-verbal.

The school is looking for a confident, calm and patient practitioner with a clear understanding of autism and experience supporting children with additional needs in an Early Years setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide consistent, nurturing 1:1 support for a nursery-aged child with autism

  • Use visual aids, PECS, Makaton or other communication strategies to support non-verbal communication

  • Deliver targeted activities to promote social, emotional and academic development

  • Work closely with the SENCO, class teacher, and external specialists to follow the child's personalised support plan

  • Assist with personal care routines when required

Requirements:

  • Proven experience supporting children with autism in an Early Years or SEN setting

  • Confidence working with non-verbal children and using alternative communication methods

  • Strong understanding of early childhood development and SEN best practice

  • Calm, patient, and resilient approach to supporting complex needs

  • Committed to promoting inclusion and positive outcomes for all children
