As a global leader in speciality chemicals, this is an exciting opportunity to join their Biotechnology division to be a part of the growth towards sustainabilty. 

They currently have an exciting opportunity for a Research Scientist to join the Biotechnology department, more specifically the Synthetic Biology team, who will help deliver these sustainability targets. During this role you will be developing engineered microbes for new bioprocesses at laboratory and pilot scale. As well as working closely with other teams within the company. 

Who are they looking for? 

Essentials:

PhD or equivalent experience in synthetic biology, molecular biology, metabolic engineering.

Strong technical background in strain engineering of fungal strains (cultivation and genetic manipulation)

Strong molecular biology skills, including cloning, DNA & RNA manipulation, microorganism transformation.

Even better if you have: 

Experience using modern gene-editing technologies such as CRISPR, and DNA assembly such as Golden-Gate and Gibson.

Experience in high-throughput screening (DNA combinatorial assembly, enzyme assays, or analytics)

Microbiologist, with experience working with bioreactors.

Experience in downstream bioprocess development.

Previous work experience within the biotechnology or bioindustry sector.

Proven experience of taking an idea to commercial success.
