Join our expanding commercial team as a driven Sales and Business Development Executive. We are seeking an individual with experience in technical sales or commercial roles within the chemical sector. In this crucial role, you will cultivate and expand customer relationships while proactively identifying and pursuing new avenues for business growth.

Initially, your focus will be on technical sales and account management. This will evolve into a more comprehensive business development remit within 3 to 6 months. Your responsibilities will include pinpointing and developing strategic opportunities, establishing enduring customer partnerships, and collaborating closely with internal teams to meet our customers' needs.

For the first 3-6 months, the successful candidate will be based at our clients site in Cheshire to ensure thorough integration into our operations and processes. Following this initial period, a hybrid work (work from home / WFH) arrangement can be considered, with an anticipated on-site presence of approximately 3 days per week, contingent on customer engagements, online meetings, and broader business demands.

Your Key Contributions Will Include:

  • Contributing actively as part of a dynamic sales team.
  • Responding to technical enquiries via phone and email.
  • Nurturing and expanding our existing customer base, alongside actively seeking new customers.
  • Collaborating with clients, suppliers, and internal teams to achieve results and drive business expansion.
  • Proactively pursuing new business opportunities, applying your knowledge and customer insights.
  • Maintaining consistent communication with customers regarding quotations, orders, and delivery schedules.
  • Assisting in the development of marketing materials to support sales initiatives.
  • Representing our client at industry events, exhibitions, and client meetings.
  • Coordinating with internal departments (production, QC, logistics) to fulfill customer requirements.
  • Demonstrating a flexible and proactive approach, with a readiness to adapt, learn, and support colleagues as needed.

What We Are Looking For:

  • A minimum of a BSc in Chemistry (or closely related field) - essential.
  • At least 2 years of experience in technical sales, account management, or business development within the chemical industry.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills coupled with a strong commercial acumen.
  • Excellent organizational skills, self-motivation, and the ability to work effectively both independently and within a cross-functional team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with SAP - desirable.
  • Fluency in English - essential; additional language skills - an advantage.
  • Willingness and ability to undertake travel across the UK and mainland Europe at short notice (unrestricted European travel is a prerequisite).

  • Right to work in the UK. Please note our client is unable to sponsor a Visa.
