Astute's Power team is partnering with a leading power generation company to recruit an Electrical, Controls and Instrumentation Technician for their Biomass site in Chester on a contract basis for an immediate start.
Key skills
- Act as the Electrical Duty Holder for the site, ensuring compliance with statutory and company requirements.
- Promote and support plant safety initiatives, including participation in Near Miss and Incident Investigations, and implement resulting recommendations.
- Ensure all Electrical, Control & Instrumentation (EC&I) assets comply with Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental standards, policies, and procedures.
- Develop, implement, and test software modules and control systems or equivalent platforms.
- Lead fault-finding and root cause investigations for EC&I systems to identify and resolve technical issues effectively.
- Develop and maintain engineering documentation, including procedures, method statements, and technical guidance.
- Implement, maintain, and test SCADA systems, ensuring optimal performance and data integrity.
- Own and manage the Safety Instrumented System (SIS), including maintenance, proof testing, and performance verification.
- Support outage and maintenance activities, ensuring timely, safe, and compliant completion of all EC&I work, and maintain accurate reporting within the CMMS.
- Must have experience in a relevant environment/sector (e.g. power station, chemical process)
- Must have worked with rotating machinery and Instrumentation.
