The Role

As Chief Financial Officer, you will lead the financial strategy, ensuring robust fiscal management and sustainable growth. This role covers Financial Management and Financial Compliance and the opportunity to make a significant impact in the education sector.

Key Responsibilities of the Chief Financial Officer:

  • Develop and implement strategic financial plans aligned with the trust's educational objectives
  • Oversee all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices in educational finance
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to drive operational efficiency and resource optimisation
  • Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement

Required knowledge and experience for the Chief Financial Officer role:

  • Proven experience as a Chief Financial Officer, or senior leadership preferably in the education or non-profit sector
  • Qualified Accountant with 5 Years post qualified experience
  • Strong understanding of financial regulations and compliance in the UK education system
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities, with a focus on long-term sustainability
  • Experience of designing and enforcing internal controls and Audit processes
  • Proficiency in financial management systems and data analysis tools
  • Advanced Excel skills
