Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and effective lessons in computer science and related IT subjects.
- Plan and assess student progress, ensuring academic standards are met.
- Contribute to curriculum development and course planning.
- Provide academic and pastoral support to learners, helping them achieve their goals.
- Participate in departmental meetings, professional development, and quality assurance activities.
Requirements:
- A degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science or a closely related field.
- A recognised teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE, Cert Ed) or willingness to obtain one.
- Strong subject knowledge, particularly in programming languages (e.g. Python, Java), web development, and computer systems.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- A passion for education and supporting learners from diverse backgrounds.
Experience:
- Prior experience teaching in a further education or higher education setting is highly desirable.
- Industry experience in computing or IT is an advantage, especially where it enhances your teaching.
- Experience with blended and digital learning tools (e.g. Moodle, MS Teams) is beneficial.
